Born and raised in London Ontario Tanya grew up, thanks to her mother, listening to a large variety of music genres. She recalls her mother always listening to Patsy Cline while doing the housework then cranking up the radio for The Eagles or AC/DC in the car. Finding her voice early on, Tanya penned her first song at 8 years old called “More than I can stand”. Although she cringes at the thought of singing it, it’s not half bad for an eight year old. Tanya loved singing in her schools’ chamber choirs and performing in her high school musical. She says that she can’t get enough of the beautiful rush that comes when people bring their voices together creating magical harmonies. Tanya remembers the exact moment she truly fell in love with country music. She was 12 years old on a trip to South Carolina and heard a song called “John Deer Green”. She says it was that song that made her understand that song writing was story telling “beautified”. Tanya admits that she may not have been the strongest singer in her younger years however she says “when you love to do something you just work as hard as you can to get better”. And she did. Tanya has a powerhouse voice which is evident in her rendition of Martina McBride’s “Broken Wing”. In more recent years Tanya has used her performing talents to raise money for The Multiple Sclerosis Society, Child Find and Cancer research to name only a few. She has performed with a few bands over the years and won a few singing contests but has decided it’s high time to pursue her career as an independent recording artist in Country Music. To that end, Tanya is set to begin recording her first single at Daredevil Production in Nashville. She says she is very optimistic and excited to be recording with producers Kelly Schoenfeld and John Dwinell.
